		<description>Thanks for this page. I encountered the &quot;hunk failed&quot; error on a patch that I generated from a subversion repository, and searching for solutions to the problem led me here. My particular problem was solved by making sure that newline endings were native on the file system: the source code was stored in a zip file with Windows newline endings, and I was trying to patch them on a Linux machine. Using the &quot;-a&quot; flag to unzip solved the problem for me. Perhaps this comment can help someone else.</description>
